An enhanced time synchronization for dynamic data-rate asymmetric wireless links

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

IEEE 1588 is a standard used to synchronize independent clocks running on separate nodes of a distributed measurement and control system. However, the conventional IEEE 1588 assumes fixed symmetric/asymmetric links, resulting in errors during synchronization in dynamically changing wireless links. We propose an enhanced synchronization algorithm in order to compensate the offset error due to the dynamically changing data rate of the wireless link and to enhance the accuracy of time synchronization.
