Abstract

In the field of instructional technology (IT), working professionals find themselves in a world of rapidly changing information. By engaging with both professional and personal communities simultaneously via the Internet, IT professionals can stay "connected" to information in its realtime form. Using connectivism as a framework, in this surveybased study we explored ways in which IT professionals manage their rapidly changing work environment and enhance their creative productivity through the use of Web 2.0 technologies. We found connectivism to be an appropriate framework for understanding the day-to-day accessing of resources by IT professionals for creative productivity.
