Abstract

A pentacene organic thin-film transistors (OTFT) inverter with a depletion mode load OTFT and an enhancement mode driving OTFT was proposed. Pentacene active layer was deposited on the thermally grown SiO2 gate dielectric, and nickel was e-gun evaporated through a shadow mask for the gate, drain and source. It was observed that the depletion load had load-line characteristic that was similar to the ideal switch. It was also observed that, with only two OTFTs, the minimum output voltage went down to 0 V and it improved the noise margin (NM) charactristics.
