Abstract

A report on the high efficiency of the organic light emitting devices with AL/NaF cathode was presented. NaF was suggested to be used as an alternative to commonly used LiF interlayer for improved OLED performance. The evolution of valence band ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) was shown while two different types of cathodes were deposited on Alq3. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and UPS results showed that the amount of valence band shift resulting from the NaF deposition surpasses that of the LiF deposition.
