Abstract

An AMLED display featuring photodetection is implemented by using discrete ICs. For pixel driving, a PDIC (pixel driving IC) is presented. The size of PDIC was 400×800 μm2. For photosensing, a charge integrator is used. For both emitting and sensing LEDs, the proposed circuit comprises PDIC, switches, CI, and control signals. It is verified that the implemented AMLED display can distinguish photocurrents caused by the reflected lights from the colored objects depending on the color combinations of emitting and sensing LEDs.
