Abstract
A sensor network is a type of network made up of a large number of sensor nodes, through which it senses data from the nearby area and processes them. Keeping in step with technological advancements in information and communications, the Korea military is researching ways for conducting effective warfare, which it aims to achieve by linking individual entities together to enable smooth sharing of information on battlefield resources. In this paper, a sensor network is clustered in advance and CHs (Cluster Header) are assigned to the clustered groups in forming the network. Before deployment, certificates are provided between the BS (Base Station) and sensor nodes. Then, after clustering, authentication is done between the BS and sensor nodes. An authentication technique is added between the CHs in order to proactively respond to destruction or replacement of sensor nodes. In addition, as authentication is done twice, a higher level of security can be provided.
