Abstract
There is probably no layer in the OLED stack that has attracted less attention from the scientific community than the electron injection layer. Much effort is being devoted to developing new materials for the emissive layer, especially blue light emitters and hosts or materials transporting electrons and holes. Metals (Li, Ba, Yb, etc.) and simple lithium salts such as LiF and Liq have been used as electron injection materials without modification for approximately 20 years. These materials, however, are crucial in delivering electrons from the cathode, influencing the number of recombining charges in the emission layer and even the place where it occurs. For this reason, we investigated new EIL material and compared it with devices that utilize the widely used Liq. The research carried out showed an increase in the durability of OLED devices when new material was used.
