Abstract
We numerically investigate the optimal multilayer structure of V-shaped organic solar cells (VOSCs) to obtain the highest absorption efficiency. Solar absorbance is calculated by the finite element method as a function of the folding angle of VOSCs. The solar absorbances of planar organic solar cells (OSCs) and VOSCs are compared at various thicknesses of the hole-transporting layer (HTL) and transparent anode, respectively. The optimal thicknesses of the HTL and transparent anode for the planar OSCs are not in agreement with those for the VOSCs. Thus, the optimal multilayer structure of the VOSCs should be determined separately from that of the planar OSCs widely used to optimize the light absorption efficiency.
