Abstract

This paper summarizes recent revision of vocabulary standard in ISO TC 184/SC 2 (robots and robotic devices). The previous standard on vocabulary was published in 1994, and it focused mainly on industrial robots. A working group on vocabulary was formed to revise the existing standard and to expand it to cover the terminologies for service robots. The final version has been developed by experts and published in March 2012. Some new additions are summarized in this paper.
