Abstract
We have studied the surface modification of Cr by ultra violet (UV) irradiation. We achieved high contact angle difference of 105° after monochromatic UV irradiation through attaching polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) on Cr surface. Area of high surface energy was formed by O3 treatment and area of low surface energy by methyl compound transfer from PDMS surface to Cr surface during UV exposure. Surface energy can be controlled by UV exposure without chemical treatment.
