Abstract
An integrated ABR traffic control scheme named rate and credit flow control (RCFC) using virtual channel flow control (VCFC) and enhanced proportional rate control algorithm (EPRCA) is presented for use in upcoming asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks. The RCFC is operated based on a real-time integrated traffic management scheme, and is shown to use any leftover bandwidth efficiently by simulation results concerning throughput, cell loss ratio, and buffer requirement.
