Abstract
A summary of recent developments in the study of the reactions of tertiary amines with triosmium cluster complexes is presented. The relationships between iminium ion ligands, dimethylaminocarbene ligands and dimethylaminocarbyne ligands in several series of triosmium carbonyl cluster complexes are described. The transformations are dominated by binuclear CH activation processes. Novel ligand coordination modes were characterized by crystallographic methods.
