Virtualization of video quality enhancement process for mobile device

Abstract

Nowadays, wireless data traffic is increasing rapidly because of mobile video streaming. However larger than HD resolution video is too big to download onto mobile phone, because of lack in bandwidth. So we bridge the resolution gap between download under HD video, and propose a novel up-sampling through the cloud offloading by using edge information for reducing blur effect. In addition, this novel way uses edge segment by using run length, and motion estimation to reduce data traffic. Despite the appended Edge data less than 50% of Original Low Video, it improves the quality of the upsampled video significantly.
